வாய்ப்புண் வருவது மிகவும் சாதாரண விஷயமாக இருந்தாலும், அதைக் கவனிக்காமல் விட்டாலோ, அடிக்கடி வந்தாலோ பிரச்சினை பெரிதாகிவிடும். தொடக்கத்தில் உதடு, கன்னம், நாக்கு, அண்ணம் ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் கடுகளவு தோன்றும் கொப்புளங்கள், சில நாட்களில் உடைந்து, உளுந்து அளவுக்குக் குழிப்புண்களாக மாறி வலியை ஏற்படுத்தும்.
நாளடைவில் சாப்பிடும்போதும் பேசும்போதும் வலி அதிகமாகும். கழுத்தில் நெறிகட்டும், காய்ச்சல் வரும், உடல்வலி, தலைவலி எனத் தொல்லைகள் தொடரும்.
வாய்ப்புண் காரணங்கள்:
ஸ்ட்ரெஸ், மன அழுத்தம் பேக்டீரியா, புஞ்சனம், வைரஸ் இவற்றாலும் உண்டாகிறது. வைட்டமின் ‘பி’ சத்துக் குறைவாலும், இரைப்பை மற்றும் குடல் சார்ந்த நோய்களாலும் ஏற்படுகிறது. சிக்ரெட், பீடி புகைக்கும் பழக்கம் இருந்தாலும் வாய்ப்புண் ஏற்படும். வாய்ப்புண்கள் தொடர்ந்து நீண்ட நாட்கள் காணப்பட்டால் புற்று நோயாக மாறவும் சந்தர்ப்பங்கள் உண்டு. இதனால் உணவு விழுங்குவதில் சிரமம் ஏற்படும் வாயில் துர்நாற்ற்றம் ஏற்படும்.
