கோவிலுக்குள் சென்று எப்படி கும்பிட வேண்டும் என்று முறை உள்ளது. ஆனால் இன்னும் சிலருக்கு இந்த விஷயத்தை எதற்கு செய்கிறோம் என்பதே தெரியாது. கோவிலுக்குள் செல்லும் முன் காலை கழுவ கோவிலுக்கு முன் தண்ணீர் குழாய் அமைத்திருப்பீர்கள்.
கால்களை குறிப்பாக பாதங்களை நன்றாக கழுவி, தலை மேல் நீர் தெளித்துக் கொண்டு உள்ளே செல்வோம். அதனை எதற்கு செய்வதன்றால் சுத்தமாக கோவிலுக்கு செல்லவே அவ்வாறு செய்யப்படுகிறது. அவ்வாறு கழுவிக் கோண்டு போகும் போது கோவிலின் வாசலில் பெரிய நிலைப்படியை மிதிக்காமல் தாண்டித்தான் போகச் சொல்வார்கள். அது எவ்வளவு அகலமாக இருந்தாலும் அதனை தாண்டி செல்வோம்.
