ரஜினி இரு வேடங்களில் நடிக்க ஷங்கர் பிரமாண்டமாக இயக்கிய படம் எந்திரன். சன் பிக்சர்ஸ் படத்தை தயாரித்தது. அதன் இரண்டாம் பாகத்தை லைக்கா தயாரிக்க ஷங்கர் ரஜினியை வைத்து இயக்குகிறார். ஷங்கர் இயக்கத்தில் ரஜினி, அக்ஷய் நடிக்கயிருக்கும் எந்திரன் 2 படத்தின் பெயரை மாற்றினர். எந்திரன் 2 என சொல்லப்பட்ட படத்தின் பெயரை தற்போது 2.ஓ என மாற்றினர்.

மதராச பட்டினம் படத்தின் முலம் தமிழ் திரை உலகில் அறிமுகமானவர் எமி ஜாக்சன். அதன் பிறகு இந்தி பட உலகிலும் கால் பதித்தார். தற்போது ஷங்கர் இயக்கும் 2.0 படத்தில் ரஜினிகாந்த் ஜோடியாக நடித்துள்ளார்.

இந்தியாவிலேயே மிக அதிக பொருட்செலவில் உருவாகி வரும் திரைப்படம் 2.0. ரஜினி, அக்ஷய் குமார், எமி ஜாக்சன் ஆகியோர் நடிக்கும் இப்படத்தை இயக்குநர் சங்கர் இயக்கி வருகிறார். வரும் பொங்கலன்று வெளியாகும் என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. இந்தப் படத்தின் ஃபர்ஸ்ட் லுக் போஸ்டர் மற்றும் மேக்கிங் வீடியோ ஆகியவை ஏற்கனவே வெளியாகி அனைவரையும் பிரம்மிப்படையச் செய்தது. இந்நிலையில், இந்தப் படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா அக்டோபர் 27 ஆம் தேதி மிகப் பிரம்மாண்டமாக துபாய்யில் உள்ள புர்ஜ் கலிஃபாவில் நடைபெற்றது இதற்காக படக்குழுவினர் துபாய் சென்றனர்.

துபாயில் நடந்த பத்திரிக்கையாளர் சந்திப்பில் கலந்து கொண்ட இயக்குநர் சங்கர், “2.ஓ படம் எந்திரன் படத்தின் தொடர்ச்சி இல்லை,” எனத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இதுவரையில் எந்திரன் படத்தின் தொடர்ச்சி என கருதப்பட்ட 2.ஓ படம் தற்போது எந்திரன் படத்தின் தொடர்ச்சியாக இருக்காது என்ற அறிவிப்பை வெளியிட்டார்.
